Community Events It is essential to us that the community is involved in every step of our development as a company. Much of our customer-base comes from the local neighborhoods surrounding our buildings and facilities. We would like to host community events that draw people together and still offers them opportunities to work together in a safe and organized manner. This summer we are planning to start hosting “Night Bazaars” at our Sedgley ave building. If you would like to know more about these or to find out how you can assist in bring them to fruition, or offering some community-event suggestions please contact us.
COMMUNITY
Student Staffers Orbits has developed a techno-business training program that is designed to reach out to 40 local men and women between the ages of 16 – 23. The program is designed to teach young men and women how to service existing computers and create new products and services based on technology. In addition it will help them to develop the skills required to initiate, run, and operate their own businesses, joint venture with Orbits as a business center which they can use to draw other people into the promotion, sale, and distribution of Orbits related goods and services. Our community employment program doesn’t simply hire these young people as students, we assist them in establishing themselves as a business and we hire them on as consultants. This gives them more than a simple job; it gives them a strong sense of self, awareness, motivation, and enablement. The O-lounge We have allocated over 10,000 sqft of our facility to build a youth focused techno-recreation zone. A state of the art recreational facility where young people in the city of Philadelphia can gather, play videogames, use the internet with little or no time constraint, embrace educational & artistic activities with an entertaining and technologic-flare, leverage available educational resources, and engage exciting and captivating media, in a safe and protected environment. The facility will expose youth to modern media, technology, and entertainment and provide a substantial recreational alternative to existing local options. The Adult community section is designed to educate, inform, entertain, and provide exposure to and for adults in the surrounding neighborhood. An adult techno-community area within the orbits facility will educate and employ men & women to embrace modern technology, motivate, and empower them to start bridging the digital divide of their own communities and of their own initiative. It will also be used to support and nurture the Youth-oriented section, by encouraging older men and women to get involved with younger members of local communities. The art oriented aspect of the facility is designed to offer local artist a venue for exposure and the techno-savvy to expand that circle of exposure locally, nationally, and internationally as well. In order to make this happen and sustain its effectiveness we are asking for any capable donations, monetary, goods, services, or volunteered time & effort.
Free Donated Computers Your donated equipment is much need and appreciated. Orbits is working hard to establish and maintain a close relationship with the local Philadelphia communities in finding homes and families who could REALLY benefit from your donated equipment. The items you donate to our facility are either sent directly to homes where they are in need or used in our community classes that educate and expose young people to computing technology and its many facets of application; repair, maintenance, networking, and general scholastic use.  Internet Access The youth haven offers its young people FREE & unbound Internet usage. The access is designed to give each child ample time use the internet and offer them suggested resources to consider using to assist them in academics, social development and employment. The adult entertainment area charges its members a nominal fee for ample usage of the facilities resources e.g. network, internet, classes, information, and entertainment stations. That fee goes towards keeping the youth area FREE and well supported with the necessary funding for its continual existence & operation.   Community Classes Orbits wants to crate a better informed and educated consumer. We offer classes in dozens of PC related areas. Student Classes are always FREE of charge and we encourage parents and neighboring adults to pull the coat tails of younger people and direct them to these courses. Our community courses are designed with flexible hours and ample opportunity for both older and younger men & women to attend.  Art Exhibition Art plays an essential role in expressing ones self and even developing ones own philosophic view of the world around them, its also a reflection the society and communities in which the artists exist. This is an essential aspect to our facility. Our art oriented focus at Orbits is designed to draw artist from all over the city and get them exposed while at the same time drawing artist-to-be from the growing ranks of our local communities. The facility is very open to the exposure of independent artist and their work. We have adequate space to prominently feature works of art throughout the facility in a wide range of formats; film, digital, musical, live performances, canvas & paintings, graphic designs, fashion, and much more…..  Affiliate Programs If you or your organization would like to assist us in our community service endeavors. Please feel free to contact us ASAP. Our doors, time, and web-space is always available to other groups or organizations who share the same interests as we do; Helping & assisting the local Philadelphia Youth and the communities which we currently find them in. We need exactly what you have. Al people aren’t monolithic and all people can’t contribute the same things or the same quantities of things. But what ever you can donated would be greatly appreciated. We are looking for People, Money, and Things. People You……..!!! you can donate…….YOU.! We are always in need of people to come down and assist. The people element of donation is often overlooked. We need people to watch over the youth as they play and recreate here. We need people to assist in cleaning efforts or building efforts if you are a skilled laborer or artisan. Any time that you can volunteer will not go unused or unrecognized. Sometimes young people simply need to see adults present to get a sense of security and structure. Not to mention much of what goes on here will interest both the young and the old alike. Money We can always use liquid contributions, but we stress that if you could donate goods, services, or expertise, which we would appreciate just the same. If you would like to make monetary donations please make all negotiable instruments payable to: Orbits Computer Systems., LLC We accept all donations regardless of their form. Much of the money you donate will go towards establishing programs for the youth & educational aspect of the facility, and towards securing some of the ITEMS listed below. We will gladly furnish you with proper documentation noting your contribution. If you feel better securing items yourself, we accept electronics, and computer oriented goods as well.
Things Right now we are in search of modern or contemporary electronics and entertainment equipment. In exchange for donating such goods orbits is very open to doing some cross promotion with your company or organization throughout our facility. We need:
